FAQs

Below is our list of frequently asked questions (FAQs).  If your question is not answered please contact us and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

There are three memberships to The Paper Database, all of which grant you complete access to all of your data tables.  You can purchase a monthly ($4.99), yearly ($49.99) or lifetime membership ($249.99)

The Paper Database will be updated on a weekly basis as new papers become available. Not all categories will be updated weekly as categories will only be updated when applicable.

You will receive access to The Paper Database as soon as you create a membership.

The database contains peer-reviewed scientific research articles published in major journals.  This includes randomized controlled trials (RCTs), observational studies (Obs), reviews, and commentaries.  Pre-print, non peer-reviewed studies are not included in the database until they have been peer-reviewed and published in a major journal.

Please contact us as soon as possible!  Missing articles sets our hair on fire and is against every fabric of our being.  You’ll be doing us a huge favor by letting us know we’re missing something.

No there is not.  We feel that our database is super valuable and somewhat underpriced.  For $4.99/month you can gain access to over 5,000 article citations and hyperlinks by topical area.  If the database isn’t what you are looking for you are able to cancel at any time.

We’ve had many people ask us this and we wish that we could offer this service.  We would recommend purchasing a monthly membership and copying all the citations you find valuable to another service such as Endnote.

Currently (summer of 2021) we only offer individual memberships.  If you are interested in a corporate membership for a reduced price/person please contact us.

Absolutely, if you don’t see a topic that you’d like information on to be covered in the database we will do our best to update the database to include that topic.  Please contact us with your request.

We’re not offering this service at this time.  Part of the power of The Paper Database is providing the user with an organized platform for easily finding and retrieving scientific papers by topical area.  As of right now if you would like to download individual lists we would recommend taking screenshots or copying the HTML text into an excel document or another platform of your choosing.  We know this is a little “wonky” and “cumbersome” but it is what we have to work with right now.

The Paper Database is organized into 10 primary categories.  The categories include links to research papers on weight gain, weight loss or weight maintenance as well as observational studies (Obs) and randomized controlled trials (RCTs).  Please note that some categories will contain only Obs, others will contain only RCTs, and some will contain both Obs and RCTs depending on the category type.  For more information, please click here for a table directing you to a brief description of the types of studies included in each of the 10 database categories.  You can also click on any one the category tiles within the Database Categories webpage to view the list of topics within each of the ten primary database categories.

If you have already purchased The Paper Database here are a couple of commonly asked questions.
